4E 1 High Chancellor Ocato of Firsthold, who served as Imperial Battlemage for Emperor Uriel Septim VII, is made Potentate of The Empire after the Oblivion Crisis and the demise of Martin Septim. A title he reluctantly accepted until Imperial rule could be reestablished.
4E 5 The Red Mountain on Vvanderfell erupts into a cataclysmic explosion that kills thousands and covers most of Morrowind in ashes. Seizing the chance to take revenge against their ancient enemies, the Argonians launch an invasion of southern Morrowind.
4E 10 While on his search for a suitable Emperor for the Empire, Potentate Ocato is assasinated by an agent of the resurging Thalmor. His death caused the Stormcrown Interregnum which further divided the weakened Elder Council.
4E 10 That same year, the Thalmor overthrow the rulers of the Summer Set Islands that are loyal to the Empire. The Thalmor, claiming to have ended the Oblivion Crisis, begin a systematic purge of all those who are loyal to the Empire and who they consider to not have the blood of the Altmer. The summerset islands are renamed Alinor.
4E 16 Eleven years have passed since the devastation of Morrowind. In an unbidden gesture of generosity, the nordic island of Solstheim is granted to the Dunmer by the High King of Skyrim.
4E 17 With the Imperial Seat left empty, a war between the lords of Cyrodiil begins. Later that year, a Colovian Warlord by the name of Titus Mede takes control of the Imperial City and is named Emperor, the first of the Mede Empire.
4E 22 After decades of tension the Summerset Isles, now Alinor, officially break from the Empire and are under the undisputed control of the Thalmor.
4E 29 Seeking to recreate their ancient power, the Thalmor expand their influence to Valenwood. Through treachery and deceit, the Bosmer government is overthrown by the supremacist elves, thus giving birth to the Second Aldmeri Dominion.
4E 43 Forty Nine years after the Oblivion Crisis, the Floating City of Umbriel arrives to Tamriel. Powered by part of Deadric Prince Clavicus Vile power, the floating city spawns a shadow army under the control of the Lord of Souls. The city destroys the Argonian city of Lilmoth before turning it's sight to the Imperial City. Thanks to the intervention of Prince Attrebus Mede, the thread is stopped.
4E 98 The moons of Nirn, Masser and Secunda mysteriously disappear. With the disappearance of the moons, the Khajit frenzy over the loss of them as part of their cultural significance. The event is known as the Void Night.
4E 100 The moons return to Tamriel, the Thalmor claim this their work and the grateful Khajit's join the Second Aldmeri Dominion.
4E 99 After a long silence, the Thalmor begin political relations with the Mede Empire.
4E 115 Elswyre is reformed into the states of Anequina and Pelletine, both subjects to the Aldmeri dominion.
4E 121 The Ancient City of Winterhold is struck by the Great Collapse. Sending much of the city into the sea. Once a source of pride, the still standing College of Winterhold was seen with suspicion thereon and is accused to have caused the collapse due a magical experiment. The reputation of magical arts in Skyrim is hurt by this.
4E 129 The people of Riften, distraught by the corruption of their nobles, burn their corrupt Jarl, Hosgunn Cross-Daggers. The fires spread through the city and burn for days.
4E 150 High King Erling dies and his son, Istlod, takes the throne, officially becoming the next leader over the region of Skyrim.
4E 168 After the death of his father, Titus Mede II is crowned Emperor.
4E 171 After the emissary of the Thalmor delivers the severed heads of Blade agents with terms of the disbandment of the Blades, outlawing the worship of Talos, and ceding territory of soutern Hammerfell to the Aldmeri Dominion, the Great War breaks out between the Empire and the Aldmeri Dominion.
4E 175 High King Istlod dies. His son, Torygg, takes the throne. The Imperial victory at the battle of the Red Ring leads to the end of the Great War and the installment of the White-Gold Concordat. The Blades are disbanded, worship of Talos is outlawed and a portion of southern Hammerfell is given to the Dominion. The Redguards outraged with this break away from the Empire and continue to fight the Dominion to a stalemate.
4E 176 The Forsworn have taken the Reach. Ulfric Stormcloak crushed the Forsworn rebellions at behest of Jarl Igmund under the condition that Talos is worshiped in the city of Markarth. Risking war with the Dominion, the Imperial Legions take the city and expel the fledgling Stormcloak rebellion.
4E 180 After years of countless battles, the Thalmor retreat form Hammerfell.
4E 201 Jarl Ulfric Stormcloak of Winterhelm challenges High King Torygg to a duel for the leadership of Skyrim. Ulfric kills Thoryyg using the voice and subsequently escapes, only to be captured near Helgen in the Hold of Falkreath.
4E 201 Alduin Escapes the Dragon Break caused by the Elder Scroll, which was used by Felldir the Old. The dragons lay waste to Helgen, inadvertently freeing Ulfric Stormcloak and the woman who would be known as the Dovahkiin.
4E 201 After the death of his cousin, Vittoria Vici, Emperor Titus Mede visits Skyrim and is assassinated by the resurgent Dark Brotherhood.
4E 202 With Alduin slain by the Dovahkiin, the civil war in Skyrim resumes, ending with the siege of Solitude and the final victory for the Stormcloak cause.
Ulfric Stormcloak Takes the throne as High King, and becomes the Jarl of Solitude, a decision conducted by the current Jarls of each of the nine Holds through a vote.
4E 203 Skyrim separates from the Empire, creating further chaos for the Mede Dynasty.
4E 205 Ulfric Stormcloak courts Elisif the Fair, the former High King's Widow and former Jarl of Solitude.
4E 207 The High King and Queen of Skyrim have their first male child, the first heir to the High King's throne.
4E 209 The Worship of Talos is re-established in Skyrim, setting off the Thalmor against Ulfric Stormcloak.
4E 215 The Dovahkiin was named "Dovmonah" (Mother of Dragons) by the High King Ulfric after balancing and harmonizing the relationship between dragons and man.
4E 220 The former Imperials and sympathizers which fought against Ulfric Stormcloak give themselves the name "Bloodbacks". They are lead by a mysterious former Imperial that served under High King Thoryyg twenty years previous. The Bloodback rebellion begins when an attempt at Ulfric's life was made by them. The Thalmor align themselves with the Bloodback rebels.
4E 225 The Dovmonah becomes the first Dragon Rider. A coalition of men and dragons formed by the Dovmonah due to the rising tensions between rebels, the Thalmor, and Stormcloak soldiers. The Dragon Riders were formed with the means to forge peace and order in Skyrim and to protect the region against the Empire's wrath.
4E 252 After a fifty year long reign, Ulfric Stormclaok dies. His offspring, rebels, and other factions begin to fight over the Jagged crown, while Stormcloak Soldiers align themselves with the new High King, Ulfric's son.
4E 265 The Dovmonah dies of old age, leaving the Dragon Riders without a leader. The region is left in further ruin and there is political instability with the Stormcloak crown.
