FACTIONS OF SKYRIM
Who do we have?
    IMPERIAL LEGION
o The Imperial legion is a large military organization and the main armed force of the Empire. They are proclaimed to be the most disciplined and effective military force in history, and that they preserve the peace and rule of law in the Empire. They are equipped with their own Navy and even Battle mages. New recruits take an oath that binds them to the service of the Empire. Currently, the Empire seeks to reclaim Skyrim.
    Starters begin with:
    • Imperial Armor Set
    • Imperial Sword

    • Canons: Legate Rikke (Chief Lieutenant)

    BLOODBACKS
o The Bloodbacks are a faction lead by former Imperials. They strongly oppose Ulfric Stormcloak’s reign, firmly believing that he has no right to the Jagged Crown, nor do his offspring, seeing his decision of Skyrim parting with the Empire as treason. They believe Skyrim should reunite with the Empire; without the Empire, Skyrim will collapse and be left in ruins. They support the banning of the worship of Talos and openly persecute those who believe in him. They are the extremists of the Imperial Legion.
    Starters begin with:
    • Imperial Armor Set
    • Imperial Sword

    STORMCLOAK SOLDIERS
o The Stormcloak Army is the terrestrial component of Skyrim’s armed forces. It operates under the auspices and with the authority of the High King of Skyrim himself, with its primary mission being to preserve the peace and rule of law in the region. They have a strong connection to the Dragon Riders, relying on each other for support.
    Starters begin with:
    • Stormcloak Armor Set
    • Steel War Axe

    DRAGON RIDERS
o The Dragon Riders is a faction formed by the Dovamonah. Their mission is to protect and guard the peace between men and dragons. Only upon the learning of Thu’um can a member be taught to tame and befriend a dragon to ride, officially becoming a Dragon Rider. When man and dragon share the words of the Thu'um with kindness and companionship, their thunderous voices soon become one, connecting the two on a spiritual level. At first, only the Nords were riders, but later on, other races were added to the equation. As time passed, they became more recognized for their power and were given more authority in Skyrim by the High King Ulfric. The Rider’s home is in Winterhold, as the Dovakiin was the Arch-mage of the College there for fifty years, although the Dragons themselves much prefer the high peaks of the mountains. There are seven Dragon Riders overall and no new Riders have been recruited since the Dovamonah’s death.
    Starters begin with:
    • Dragon (Brown)
    • Dragon Call (Shout) Plus two 1st lv. Shouts

    GREYBEARDS
o The Greybeards are an ancient and honored order of monks that dwell in their mountain sanctuary of High Hrothgar on top of the Throat of the World. Master of Thu'um or the "Voice" they live in complete silence in order to attune themselves better to the voice of the sky. A peaceful order they shun the use of the gift of Kyne for martial skills instead of honoring the gods as it was decreed. It is said that when they speak their voices brew storms, conjures avalanches and the very foundations of mountains shake.
    Starters begin with:
    • Two 1st Lv. Shouts
    • One 3rd lv. Shout

    DARK BROTHERHOOD
o The Dark Brotherhood is a renowned and infamous faction of assassins. Working as both a business and a cult, the Brotherhood is feared all across Tamriel. They are an organization with the purpose of professional killing. Their divine purpose, however, is to serve The Dread Lord and go by what he desires. Those who know of their existence mainly tolerate them, in fear of meeting their own demise.
    Starters begin with:
    • Shrouded Armor Set
    • Steel Dagger
    • Poison

    • Canons: Babette

    COMPANIONS
o The Companions are a group of Nordic warriors. Their origins trace back to the Five Hundred Companions, a group of Atmoran warriors lead by the legendary Ysgramor. They are a mercenary group who hunt beasts and criminals. They believe that every man should be able to make his own path without the guidance of others, and that there are no rules that bind someone under rule of another. The only thing that binds a Companion to his Shield-Brothers and Sisters is his honor. Some members of the Companions are a part of the Circle, which is a small band of Companions that have embraced lycanthropy.
    Starters begin with:
    • Wolf Armor Set / Hide Armor Set
    • Werewolf Bite (Circle members only)

    • Canons: Aela the Harbinger

    COLLEGE OF WINTERHOLD
o The College of Winterhold is a guild of mages located in the northern section of the city of Winterhold. They are a powerful magic-using group that possesses immense amounts of knowledge. Outsiders no longer view the college with indignation, with the cataclysm of the Great Collapse becoming a mystery of the past. Winterhold has been rebuilt anew, being bigger and more beautiful than it ever was before. The College can be joined by passing several tests of merit, which normally requires the casting of a few powerful spells.
    Starters begin with:
    • Three Novice Spells
    • Two Apprentice Spells

    • Canons: Faralda, Drevis Nolaren, Enthir

    PSIJIC ORDER
o The Psijic Order is a secret religiously mystic organization that holds a strong influence in the College. They had established a partnership with the College around the end of the First Era, when they mysteriously disappeared from Artaeum as they moved to Skyrim for 500 years. The Psijic Order outlawed the use and practice of Conjuration and Necromancy within the order, but the students of the College itself are not forbidden from it. They only ever deal with those they feel are worthy.
    Starters begin with:
    • Three Apprentice Spells

    • Canons: Quaranir, Nerien, Gelebros, Tandil

    COLLEGE OF WHISPERS
o The College of Whispers is an officially recognized institution of magic, springing up from the dismantled Mages Guild of Tamriel. The College is rivaled by the College of Winterhold and its Psijic Order. The “Whisperers” of the College deliberately focus their research on Conjuration and Necromancy, which the Psijic Order is highly against. The College primarily tasks itself with recruiting new members and spreading knowledge of magic throughout Skyrim.
    Starters begin with:
    • Conjure Mistman
    • Conjure Boneman
    • Reanimate Corpse

    BLADES
o There are those that say the Blades still exist, still in hiding from the Thalmor. Waiting as they have done time and time again, for a Dragonborn to return. For one to protect, for one to guide them. In the First era, the Blades were dragon hunters. After the return of Alduin and the beginning of the Dragon Crisis, the Blades took on this role again. They primarily stand against the Dragon Riders with conflict and violence. This Guild has a strong connection with the Dark Brotherhood, relying on each other for support.
    Starters begin with:
    • Blades Armor Set
    • Blades Sword

    BARDS' COLLEGE
o The Bards College was first formed during the Second Era as part of the Guilds Act. Located in Solitude, the guild consists of bards, poets, and public speakers. Admittance requires one to impress the Guild’s headmaster.
    Starters begin with:
    • Lute
    • Flute
    • Drum

    • Canons: Viarmo

    THIEVES GUILD
o The Thieves Guild is an organized group of thieves in Skyrim. They provide mutual support for the criminal endeavors of its members. Their headquarters are in The Ratway beneath the city of Riften. Members of this Guild are renowned for causing trouble in the city and throughout Skyrim in general. They specialize in stealing objects of varying value or loaning septims. Most citizens view them unfavorably. The Guild has uncanny luck due to certain members striking up a deal with the Daedric Prince, Nocturnal, to serve as their guardians.
    Starters begin with:
    • Thieves Guild Armor Set
    • Steel Dagger
    • Lockpick

    • Canons: Ravyn Imyan

    VOLKIHAR CLAN
o The Volkihar Clan is a faction of vampires, royal individuals afflicted with the disease Sanguinare Vampiris, led by Lord Harkon, their Dark Lord. They reside in a large fortress that rests on a secluded island in the Sea of Ghosts, called Castle Volkihar. The Volkihar clan are known to be more cultured and civilized that the vampires of other provinces and as such, seamlessly blend into society. Most prefer to feed on victims when they are asleep or unaware. They do not burn in direct sunlight; rather they are just weakened by it.
    Starters begin with:
    • Vampire Armor Set
    • Sanguinare Vampiris

    • Canons: Serana, Harkon, Valerica, Fura, Hestla, Garan, Namasur, Orthjolf, Vingalmo, Rargal

    THALMOR
o As a branch of the Aldmeri Dominion, the Thalmor seek to unify the provinces of Tamriel through one-government management, with Elves holding all places of power. They wish to end the Empire and eradicate the worship of Talos, and have been given legal authority to do so by The White-Gold Concordat. The Thalmor are primarily Altmer and Bosmer and are adept spell-casters.
    Starters begin with:
    • Two Adept Spells
    • Elven Sword

    • Canons: Elenwen, Ondolemar, Ancarion, Rulindir, Lorcarin, Sanyon

    SILVER HAND
o The Silver Hand is an organization devoted to hunting down and exterminating werewolves. They are also mortal enemies of the Circle due to the fact that the Circle's members are werewolves. Silver Hand members are equipped almost exclusively with silver weapons.
    Starters begin with:
    • Silver Sword
    • Silver Dagger

    DAWNGUARD
o The Silver Hand is an ancient order of vampire hunters. The history of the Dawnguard is vague and is surrounded by rumors and hearsay. What little is known, however, is that the group was formed in the Second Era by the Jarl of Riften at that time when his son acquired vampirism. He built a fort and hired guards to quarantine him. These guards became known as the Dawnguard. The Dawnguard became a faction of Vampire hunters and have been since that time.
    Starters begin with:
    • Crossbow
    • Dawnguard Armor set
    • Vampire's Bane

    • Canons: Beleval, Durak, Mogrul,
